The Connection

I feel as though in life I have most things planned to the extreme. I know where I want something, how I am going to get it, where along the line each milestone occurs and that will help me tremendously when trying to decide where next take my leadership. The Freshman Leadership Program was an outstanding opportunity to learn and grow and it would not have been possible without any of the guidance and miracles from God. I was completely lucky when coming to Creighton that I could find a program that meshed so well with each of my needs and empowers me to want to learn more about how I can get involved in other activities and programs and one day be able to lead them with strength and confidence. I have learned about different leadership style and how they work for other people and I feel as though I could easily place that into my own life and apply each of them equally to become an highly educated and well rounded leader individual. I have learned through the roles course to always trust people, you never know who will ofter their hand of assistance. This is extremely useful as there will be times in my career that I don't have the answer and I need someone to lean back on. In addition, the Freshman Leadership Program's retreat taught me that you can't fully understand what someone is going through. You don't understand their background story, you don't know what has happened to them so you need to show compassion and love to everyone no matter the circumstance.
