Goals

I think the interesting thing with leadership is that you can never stop learning. You can never know enough or grow enough because you can always be better in some way. I will always keep applying everything that I have learned into each and every one of my positions. To me, leadership is the ability to inspire, motivate, communicate, and respect others while reaching toward a vision and leading others through example. We must be able to adapt and change our various needs to both finish out our goals and comply with new techniques learned.

As apart of my leadership goals for my time here at Creighton University, I included my desire to continue on in the Freshman Leadership Program in order to guide young freshmen through the program. During this time, I was hoping to serve as the RA on the FLP floor, but after a change of events I was offered the service executive position. This almost directly correlates with my hopes of someday becoming the Vice President of service and philanthropy through my fraternity. Unfortunately, I will not pursue that position, but I do hope to find another role and extracurricular activity to fill my already busy schedule.

I think the best way to apply the techniques learned in seminar is to use them. The best way for me to learn is hands. Apply different style and utilize different ideas at different times and find out what works best for the position you are in and the culture that surrounds you.
